Most of us who have been living in Ulsan for sometime have had the pleasure of visiting Taehwagang park. It is definitely one of the more pleasant places to visit in Ulsan, a place where you enjoy a quiet stroll around a bamboo forest, or if you're feeling more adventurous choose to cycle or even rent a Segway. After you've had your exercise you might think it's time to wind down a bit and treat yourself to a coffee and pastry in one of the many coffee shops that surround the coffee shop.
By now, you've probably visited the stalwarts of the Korean coffee shop scene, Starbucks, Pasucci, Angel-in-us. But are you aware there is a revolving cafe overlooking the park. There might be some of you who have been wondering what the tall building on the other side of the bamboo forest is. Well, I can now confirm for you, its a Cafe with a revolving floor, so you can take in the views of the park while you sip at some delicious coffee or tuck into a tasty waffle
When you enter you choose where to sit, order your coffee and sit back and relax as your scenery of the park changes without you having to lift a finger. As the floor gently eases you around, at first you might question if your actually moving at all, but very soon you realise you are gradually moving around the room. As enjoyable as it is, be careful not to put your belongings on the wrong section of the floor, otherwise you might find your bag has ended up on the other side of the room!
Apart from a very small section at the back the Cafe is surrounded from floor to ceiling by glass, giving you unparalleled views of Taehwa park and the Jung-gu area in general. To rotate full circle takes around an hour, but you can stay in the cafe as long as you wish. Just one rotation was enough for us but it was still a fun thing to do and would recommend to anyone looking for a enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.
How to get to the Revolving Cafe?
The Revolving Cafe is actually on the other side of the river to the main Taehwa park. The cafe is located in the building on the opposite side of the river from the bamboo forest. There are two ways to get there.
Alternatively you could go by road, however, there aren't many bus links so you would have to use a car.
