Let's not kid ourselves there's few things better than hanging out with your mates drinking a few cans while playing PlayStation. Unfortunately, for one reason or another opportunities for this seem to dwindle after you finish University. Your mates house is too far away, no one has the money for an expensive bit of kit or even if you do manage to buy a PlayStation you can't afford the latest games, leaving you still playing a friends old FIFA and reliving the Heskey golden years.
Fortunately there is an answer. A place where you can drink beer and play your favourite games to your hearts content all for a reasonable price. That place is the PlayStation cafe. The place is nothing short of a gamer’s paradise with widescreen TV's comfortable chairs and a BYOB policy. Get hungry? They’ve got you covered with an assortment of snacks to keep you playing to the wee hours of the morning. Feeling nostalgic for those classic games you used to play for endless hours, they've got your back with even a selection of PlayStation 3 games to help you relive those golden moments. Want to play the latest game anything from the new UFC game to PES 2017 yep you guessed it, they've got a whole stack ready and waiting for eager gamers.
Sound too good to be true, well there is one catch. It can be a nightmare to find this place. When me and my friend heard rumours that Ulsan had a PlayStation cafe we set off a wild adventure hunt to find this promised land. However, having tried and failed on two occasions to find this PlayStation Mecca we turned to a local cafe owner who was kind enough to personally guide us to its whereabouts. The problem isn't necessarily its location it’s that its horribly signposted and the PlayStation sign is really small so you can easily walk past it without batting an eye.
In this article I hope I can guide any you to successfully find the PlayStation cafe so you won’t have to struggle as I did. Basically from the front university entrance go across the road then take a right. Go straight for about 5 minutes and you'll come to shop that says Team Mad, the PlayStation cafe entrance is just on the left hand side, up on the third floor.
Got it? great, your one step closer to living out those gaming dreams. But, before we go any further its important to note that the staff don't speak very much English however this isn't really a problem as getting set up is really simple. Just go over to the game shelf beside the front desk. Pick a game, hand it to a member of staff they will direct you to a sofa and TV where you will play. They will set up everything and give you a timer that records how long you've been playing, when you finish just go back to the front desk and they will charge your amount, simple.
I know I'm talking this place up but I really enjoyed hanging out with my friends here, I just think it’s a really awesome way to spend a Friday or Saturday night, something a little different. The atmosphere is lively with plenty of screams of joy and curses of defeat as friend’s battle over that nights gaming bragging rights. Now I know it won't be to everyone's cup of tea and if you’re more of a real hardcore gamer maybe you will prefer a more personal set up but if you’re looking for a laugh and something to do in Ulsan the PlayStation cafe is the place for you. However, if your going on a date with a special someone maybe Ulsans fishing cafe would be more up your street.
